LOCATION

Animal Health & Healing is a full service integrative veterinary practice offering both conventional medicine and surgery and holistic therapies. We are located in the Maplewood area of St. Louis County at 2615 S. Big Bend Blvd., about ¼ mile north of Manchester Road. We are just south of the Clayton/Richmond Heights area and north of Webster Groves.

SCHEDULING AN APPOINTMENT

Conventional veterinary clinics often schedule patients every 15 minutes. As a holistic clinic we need more time than that to assess your pet as an individual. This entails learning about your pet’s environment, behavior, lifestyle, and medical history. Therefore, many of our appointments range from 30 – 60 minutes depending on the case. We only schedule one patient at a time. This allows us to focus all of our attention on your pet with minimal distractions. We respect your busy schedule by not over-booking appointments. We strive to see our patients on time. In turn, we ask that our clients arrive on time, or a few minutes prior to, their scheduled appointment. This allows us to spend the entire allotted time with your pet and prevents us from running behind schedule.

We strive to maintain a quiet and comfortable atmosphere for the benefit of our clients and patients. In order to better serve you and your pet we request all cell phones and pagers be turned off during your visit with us.

FEES

At Animal Health & Healing our fees reflect the time our veterinarians spend on your pet’s case. This includes time spent both in and out of the exam room. Our doctors will review your pet’s medical records prior to their first visit with us. If your pet is receiving acupuncture or homeopathic treatment, the doctor will spend time working up the case to determine the best acupuncture points or TCM formula, or homeopathic remedy.

For pets coming in for their first initial holistic exam, we require partial payment in advance. This can be done with a credit card (Master Card, Visa, or Discover) or by check. This payment allows the doctor to start reviewing previous and current medical records and developing a holistic therapeutic plan to meet your pet’s individual needs. If you need to cancel this appointment, the fee is refundable with 24 hours notice. You may reschedule the initial holistic exam without penalty anytime.

We ask that only one or two adults be present with the pet during the initial holistic exam. This exam is 60 minutes in length and this will allow our doctor and you to focus full attention on your pet with minimum distraction. We encourage you to take notes during this visit as well. The entire family is always welcome on subsequent visits to our clinic.

BEFORE THE INITIAL EXAM

Please take some time and fill out the New Client Information form and the Pet History form. This will help our doctors tremendously during their initial holistic exam of your pet. If you are scheduled to see Dr. Snodgrass, we ask that you also fill out the Feline or Canine VetSurvey form.
