Controversy
surrounds the issue of vaccinating pets. Recent research
at numerous colleges of veterinary medicine is showing
vaccines are producing long term immunity in our pets.
The AVMA is now asking veterinarians to consider reduced
vaccine protocols (vaccinating every three years instead
of annually). At Animal Health & Healing we believe
in using vaccines very judiciously. We recognize the risk
of allergic reactions, vaccinosis, and the worsening of
chronic disease by over vaccinating. Animal Health & Healing
recommends the vaccination schedule established by the
Veterinary Teaching Hospital at Colorado State University.
We also offer and recommend antibody titer testing to help
determine if revaccination is needed. Our doctors at Animal
Healing & Healing
will work with you to determine the best course of action
based upon your pet’s level of health, general
lifestyle, and risk for exposure to infectious disease.
